   Build Up Books, aka your local alternative radical lending library and source for all of your subversive needs is changing its hours again.  That's right, we're going back to Sundays.  This time, we will be open every third and fourth Sunday of the month.  Come see us! Thanks!

The 27 Social Centre is a radical community space committed to providing Denver with a location for our organizations, meetings, classes, art, music, history, libraries and much more. Several organizations call the Centre home, including the Denver Zine Library, Sent(a)mental Studios, the IWW, Bread and Roses, Backroom Editions, the Denver Community Health Collective, Denver ABC, Build Up Books and P&L Printing.

- Oaxacan Teachers' Strike Breakfast Tamales
- May 1968 (French) Toast
- Triangle Shirt Waist Scones
- One Big Union Scramble
- ¡UFW Presente! Grape Jelly Tarts

All of these items are vegan and many are gluten free.

Build Up Books has changed its hours, now open Saturday 12-3pm, to coincide with the secret cafe and the P&L infoshop!

David Gilbert’s “Love and Struggle” Book Release Event

Build Up Books and the Denver Anarchist Black Cross will be celebrating the release of Love and Struggle, the memiors of white anti-imperialist political prisoner David Gilbert.

The event will include a screening of an interview with David Gilbert, readings of selected passages, and a brief presentation and discussion on his life. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

The event is free and child friendly.

Black August Dinner with Robert King Wilkerson and Ward Churchill

Black August began in the 1970′s as a way to honor fallen Black freedom fighters George and Jonathon Jackson, William Christmas, James McClain and Khatari Gaulden. The practice of Black August has since grown into an important moment to reflect on the history and current landscape of struggles against imperialism, colonialism, and white supremacy.
